This project involved designing matching costume dresses for a 8-member dance team with diverse body types. The dresses needed to align with their "Sun Queens" theme and include fringe to represent Latin dance styles.
I designed a stunning neon orange look reminiscent of salsa dresses, with crop top and skirt separated by mesh. The tops and skirts featured flattering ruching and rhinestone sun rays. Fringe trimmed the skirt hems.
The bright neon orange popped under stage lighting, embodying the client's Sun Queens vision. The two-piece design with connecting mesh cleverly created the illusion of separates while keeping the costumes securely in place.
The ladies felt confident, sexy, and ready to captivate the audience in these custom dresses. Their excitement and stage presence during the performance was palpable. Despite their different body shapes and sizes, the strategic ruching and elegant silhouettes successfully flattered each dancer.
This project shows my expertise in designing cohesive yet customizable looks for dance teams of all sizes. The dancers looked and felt like true Sun Queens.
